Avant Workshop Series is an actors training programme for Actors. Fifth year in running, this creative acting workshop series is designed & developed by the acclaimed

theatre director and media personality Mr G Selva, guided by the leading experts in the creative teaching & media field.

1) Music & Movement for Children (4-9 years) 2 Days - 25th & 26th Novemeber

2) Speech & Drama for Children (10-14 years) 4 Days - November 18th - 19th & 25th -26th

3) Masterclass in Acting for Television and Stage (above 15 years old) 2 Days - November 18th & 19th

an Indoor Street Theatre Performance. Devising the text from award winning local writer and NAC Cultural Medallion

APRIL 2017

KAVICHAARAL - Tamil Language Festival (TLF2017)

The primary aim of Kavichaaral presented under the banner of Tamil Language festival for the past 5 years was to celebrate the works of

some of pioneer and established local Tamil writers in a dramatic stage presentation.

This year we explore the works of Mr Se Ve Shanmugam.

JULY 2017

Avant Theatre in Esplanade's RAGA Festival

A pilot initiative in Tamil which explores the process of play making from scratch to stage in 2 phases.

Phase 1 - A story will be explored, into a possible stage play through screen play and dialogues. This play will be presented as a dramatic stage-read.

Phase 2 - After a series of revisions the play will be presented as a full length stage play as part of another festival by Esplanade.

Dramatic Stage Read performed on 16th July 2017 - 3pm
