We offer two exploratory programmes under this 3 categories.

  • Half Day Theatre Workshop consisting of a four hour introduction to basic theatre skills
  • Full Day Theatre Workshop consisting of a eight hour intensive theatre education
  • Customised Workshops, One-Out Saturday Workshops and Holiday Camp Workshops

Category 1 - Half Day Workshop - Introduction to the basics of different genres of theatre

Director MasterClass

Director's Role, Directing A Play, Visualising A Script Devise/Text, Casting For A Play, Performance Making Process, Technical Aspects of Theatre that includes, Light, Sound and Music

Objectives

• To further develop students understandings about drama, theatre and performance making processes.
• To encourage students to speak Tamil through these interesting activities.
• To develop students confidence and help realise their potential through meaningful and engaging creative learning activities.

Forum Theatre

An interactive play exploration where students will be presented a play without an ending. After a short break, the students would have to device a play ending which they deem is morally and culturally right. These outcomes will be performed by the students themselves. A final outcome for the play will be presented thereafter.

Programme Highlights

• Popular Mediacorp Vasantham artists to add gaiety and excitement to the performance presentation.
• The young audience will be expected to role-play along with the professional actors as they re-enact these thrilling adventures and while discussing the possible ending for the play. During this process moral and social issues will be discussed and guided in the creative ending process.

Drama Pitching

A fun and exciting project proposal activity

Students will be required to plan a project from scratch of their choice mainly a drama piece to be presented. In the process the have to work as a group to pitch their idea to a committee who will fund their project.

Students will propose their project based on their script, character and learning and moral pointers that they will be conveying through their proposed project. They will be questioned on many aspects of their play from creativity, theatre styles and story and character analysis.

This is a fun and minnd boggling exercise where students will have to work as a small team to present their idea.All other details can be arranged based upon school facility and number of students.

Improv Theatre

A fun and exciting improvisation in acting activity. IMprov theatre is an activity on its own unlike improvisation in Theatre.

Students will be required to plan a project from based on stimuli. The stimuli could be a music piece, picture or a piece of text. Students could perform this as a single out solo performance, group ensemble or even as an add to to another artist.

This is a fun and prompts students to think based on the dicronic memory or moments and references in their life.

Students will be trained on non-scripted performance, character improvisation and story board developement.Improv Theatre is highly popular as an ourtdoor performance as well, which deals with sybthesis of ide and energy creating works of true collaboration.

All other details can be arranged based upon school facility and number of students.
